NEWSFLASH: Is this the world's second 9A boulder? (Climbed barefoot!)
The word is out that Charles Albert has opened a new boulder problem, named “No Kpote Only”, in Fontainebleau and proposes the grade to be 9A! The news was brought to light by the French climbing magazine Grimper.
Charles is known to climb barefoot, and also this new problem was climbed without shoes. Charles has climbed two 8C+’s as well as two 8C’s in Fontainebleau, which all remain unrepeated to this date, says Fanatic Climbing.
This would be the world’s second 9A boulder after Nalle Hukkataival climbed Burden of Dreams (9A).
Here’s a video from Guiliano Camaroni and Charles Albert bouldering in Fontainebleau. Charles attempt on the 9A boulder starts at 6:35.
